Sophie Cartman, a native South Londoner studied American Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College of theatre and performance, spending the 2nd year in east Texas, graduating in 2005.Sophie moved to Tokyo, Japan for 18 months and appeared in a popular long-running Japanese soap opera.
Sophie, starred in the 3-part BBC Radio 4 drama, 'A Tokyo Murder' recorded at various locations in the capital. She returned to London in 2009 and since then Sophie's theatre work includes Richard III and All's Well that ends Well at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, Manor written by Moira Buffini at the National Theatre, Death of a Salesman at the Piccadilly theatre alongside Wendell Pierce and Sharon D Clarke, directed by Marianne Elliot and Miranda Cromwell. Sophie has also performed at the Arcola, The Space, Buxton Opera House and Soho Theatre. Filming projects include playing the lead in multiple award-winning indie film- Four O’clock Flowers, BBC, Paramount+, ITV, Discovery ID, CBS Reality and CBeebies.
Sophie is an animal lover, she enjoys vegan cooking & makes a mean lemon cheesecake, she is learning Spanish, loves to practice yoga regularly and loves learning about the human mind and psychology.
